Collective Impact

Published on January 19, 2022

I am about to celebrate my 14th anniversary as a Conscious Entrepreneur.  When I had the purposeful awakening to use my business growth skills to do good, it was a massive turning point. At the time, it felt like I was the only person in the world who was feeling pulled toward this shift.

Today, there are an estimated 60 million conscious entrepreneurs globally.

Some have been on the conscious business path longer than me, others are just getting started, and some don’t even know there is such a thing.

Yet, here we are, all 60 million of us,…together…on this path.

Shortly after starting my first conscious brand, Succeed On Purpose, one of my friends and former clients, Carrie Freeman Parsons, told me about Conscious Capitalism. Instantly, I discovered that I wasn’t alone.

It was an amazing feeling. I met others on this path in organizations like B Lab, Small Giants, American Sustainable Business Council, Business for Social Responsibility, Conscious Leadership Guild, Social Venture Network, and many others.

As much as I felt like I had found my tribe, I struggled with networking, primarily because I am an introvert, but also because I was learning a new way to collaborate than what I had been taught in traditional businesses ventures.

Networking becomes “net-weaving.” Collaboration requires connection. Connection requires trust. These are not easy things to create instantly.

When it comes to community, I’ve observed that there are different ways conscious leaders come together. Some want to just BE together, others want to GROW together, and some want to create a collective IMPACT. That’s what we want for Shift/Co. Collective Impact.

Collective impact is about who we are becoming, as well as what we’re doing (together) to make the world better.  Collective impact is about staying focused on HOW we make an impact, and how to elevate that impact to create positive change.

Collective impact thrives in collaboration, community, and connection.

If this type of movement sounds exciting to you, please join any of our net-weaving opportunities in our HUBs.
